Major Barrett Dill joined the Corporation April 1st 2007 following a distinguished military career spanning some 32 years, culminating in the final 12 years as Director of Music of the Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums. Major Dill earned both the Efficiency Decoration (E.D.) and the Efficiency Medal (E.M.) for exemplary military service. On three occasions, in 1994, 1995 and again in 2003 he was honoured as the Outstanding Officer of the Year of the Bermuda Regiment. Major Dill holds both Military and Civilian degrees in Music, a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Mount Saint Vincent University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.

Desiree O’Connor became a member of the BHC management team May 1st, 2006 as the Support Services Manager. Formerly a Paraprofessional, Teacher and an Educational Therapist with the Ministry of Education and Development over a period of 9 years, Desiree changed careers from working with students at-risk to working with adults who are potentially at-risk. Desiree’s goal is to assist the adult population seeking housing with respect and compassion with the intent of helping them empower themselves and their families. Desiree’s tertiary education began at Bermuda College (1987-1990). She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from King’s College, University of Western Ontario (1993). Her Bachelor of Education was gained from University of Toronto in 2002 and her Master of Education in Risk and Prevention was earned from Harvard University Graduate School of Education (2003).

In February 2007, Blake Lambert began at the Corporation as Assistant Project Manager to help supervise ongoing projects. He was previously employed at the Department of Planning, where he spent thirteen years in positions as Building Inspector, Plans Examiner and finally as a senior building inspector. Blake holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island.

Mark Melo joined the Bermuda Housing Corporation in August 2007 as Finance Manager and is responsible for the management of the finance department. He has a wealth of experience previously serving as the Vice President and Comptroller of American International Company and Treasurer of the Corporation of Hamilton. Mark is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Acadia University.

Mr. Keino Furbert-Jacobs is the Bermuda Housing Corporation’s Project Manager hired to supervise the various building and renovation projects initiated by the Corporation. Keino joined the Corporation from the Bermuda Land Development Company where he spent two and half years as BLDC’s Project Manager and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Adrian joined BHC in 2017 with a strong background in IT. He has over 10 years of experience in application development and IT consulting. Some of his extra-curriculars include leading the BEDC’s Startup Weekend event for entrepreneurs, being a mentor at the annual Hackathon, and teaching WordPress. He also designs mobile apps and games for Bermuda Island Games, a local business he started, to promote Bermudian culture digitally. Joy Symonds is the Human Resource Manager of the Bermuda Housing Corporation. She was promoted to her position 8th January, 2007 after serving as Accounting Supervisor of the Finance Department. Joy was a civil servant for thirteen consecutive years, first at HM Customs and then the Accountant General’s Department where she worked in both the Salaries Department and the Debt Collection Section. Joy is on the Board of Directors for the Adult Education School and holds a BA Accounting Degree from Clark Atlanta University and an MBA from Webster University.

Karen Tucker is the Assistant Finance Manager responsible for monitoring key internal controls, processes and procedures and overseeing and reviewing management reports and financial statements. Mrs. Tucker joined the Corporation September 2016. She has more than 20 years of experience within the finance sectors of corporate and nonprofit organizations, bringing a wealth of knowledge in management, supervision and collaboration. Mrs. Tucker holds a B.A. degree in Accounting & Finance from St. Mary’s University and is a Member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Bermuda as a CFA – Level 1.
